Berry Smoothie Bowl

Sunshine and a smoothie bowl, the best combination. Smoothie bowls are amazing….they are cool, refreshing, filling and absolutely delicious especially on the warmer sunnier days.

Whilst you can experiment with so many different flavours and ingredients, one you can never go wrong with is a berry bowl. Blueberries and blackberries have the highest antioxidant activity of the most commonly consumed fruits which may help reduce oxidative stress. Berries also high in fibre, provide a range of nutrients including vitamin C and manganese (improve bone health) and may also help improve blood sugar regulation and insulin response.

This is the perfect balanced meal providing healthy carbohydrates, protein and fats keeping those blood sugar levels balanced plus it provides plenty of micronutrients. The secret to a proper creamy bowl is slicing and freezing the banana before blending. Throw on a few of your favourite toppings and you’ve got yourself a tasty fruity snack (or breakfast).
